reimagination land

Today's blog entry will again be brief as I am currently making my way through Flashpoint. The latest in what seems like an endless string of resets, reboots or re-imaginings in the so-called DC Universe. Feels like I've read them all at this point. Crisis on Infinite Earths, Infinite Crisis, Final Crisis, Crisis Crisis.

After cautiously waiting a year or two to see whether this version of the DC world will actually stick around I have recently started a brief foray into this new new world. Occurred to me randomly today that I hadn't read its starting point yet hence this evening's reading. Blame it on Crisis fatigue.

So I guess this makes an inauspicious start to this brave new era where I blog about things other than videogaming but its a start nonetheless. What will I make of this latest effort to purge continuity out of the continuity of DC Comics? Tune in next time to find out! Same Bat-time etc.

save the save game

Due to a miscalculation on my part, tonight's update will be nothing short of epic. No wait that's wrong, what I meant to say was that it'll be more short than epic. Had an evening of casual larks and drinks over Battlefield 4 last night and I've spent most of today recovering from it. The drinks that is, as opposed to the Battlefield 4.

a crowbar of inspiration

Better late than this. Flying starts? Hate them. If this blog could be conceived of as a train of thought then it derailed somewhere between fuck and fuck all. Inappropriate metaphor there, the train. It implies forward motion, a ceaseless drive for perpetual progress at the behest of a cerebral surge towards wisdom, reason and shit. But this? Less a train more a train crash of thought really, a car wreck of ideas, a bungalow of deceit, a tenuous metaphor of metaphors etcetera etcetera. So I failed to press play in my brain more often these past few months, my bad. Various events conspired to mercifully keep me from your screen but staying entirely, dubiously, suspiciously yet convincingly on-topic I'll stick to what I know best...

hot screenshot action #1

Happy November all! It's that special time of year where everything gets cold, sparkly and barren. Crispy leaves on the ground, a bite in the air and a wellspring of reflection as the year comes to a close. Naturally my thoughts turn to my year in gaming and soon there will be my third annual retrospective of everything I've played this year. I know, I know you're excited dear conception of a reader but for now I feel like sharing a screenshot or three from a game I played a few months ago but haven't really talked about around these here parts.
