so your pyramids on fire?

In the latest of a string of posts where not much free time equals not much Dave to go around, tonight is no exception. That said its time to bring you yet another example of the nebulous concept that is the internet celebrity with an episode of Unskippable from those cool cats behind Loading Ready Run . You know what my output has been like for the past few weeks? Well these guys are like the opposite of that, all the time.

possibly insightful game commentary alert!

Well I'm all fresh out of it tonight. So instead I'm going to do it by proxy via the ever capable yet curmudgeonly Yahtzee Croshaw and his pal Gabe as they talk about 2013 in gaming the only way they know how, by drowning out the sights and sounds of Final Fight whilst doing so. Some day all year long retrospectives will retrospect this way with random uber-manly violence playing out in the background in early 90's arcade style.

sanity prevails

Been watching these guys as they fly high on a never ending, ongoing overdose of testosterone today. Yes the assembled videos of Bro Team might not be the most productive use of your time today but they crack me up something major. Essentially envision if you will two guys talking a little louder than they need to in a comically exaggerated parody of your average twenty-something male gamer overspilling with anger issues. No that's not quite it, no imagine a non-stop stream of thought but instead of actual thoughts its a torrent of unyielding prejudice directed at just about everything and everyone. Yeah that's more like it.

advertising you win!

The 1980's truly were a different time weren't they? You may have noticed they feature quite predominantly in the meandering mess that is my brain as featured on this very blog. Truly not many era's can lay claim to this, an Atari advert for Pole Position wherein a godly hand descends from above to rescue a family of yuppies from their everlasting peace of mind. All the while an off-screen voice, presumably God, casually berates them from afar for daring to live a life devoid of Pole Position . Then as so often happens in these situations he shakes them out of their car and out of their humdrum existence into wildly misleading footage of real race cars exploding all over the place intercut with underwhelming in-game footage. Quite simply, words cannot express the joy found within.

no kill? no problem!

Been watching these for most of my week off, the prolific output of Youtuber slash video blogger slash game player Nerdcubed who plays games, a lot of games, a lot of the time and talks about them as he does so for the collective amusement of the internet. So yeah I'm enjoying these and even when I'm not there's plenty of others to enjoy. Here he plays one of the better games I've played this year, no-killing his way through a level of Dishonored .
