lunch with ragna

Finished Blazblue's story mode tonight. At least I think I did, sorta, maybe. Well the end credits started rolling, that's always a clue. But the bit before that. Well it seemed to be an ending to something anyway. I'm entirely unclear on what exactly concluded only that it came to an end.

tonight's political content

Courtesy of the amazing game-shaped box of insanity that is Blazblue: Continuum Shift Extend , here comes some hard hitting political commentary brought to you by a talking cat person thing, telling it like it is!

rocket propelled

Today's moment of pure towering achievement over the lesser accolades of the human race comes to you via ModNation Racers: Road Trip . Because only the cutting-edge gaming technology of 2014 can truly bring us both the magic and the wonder of stone.

low activity mode

Well I'm zonked, tired, at a loss for words you may say but there's just enough left in the old brain to come up with this lot. Not much left in there for actual blogging though, for it is largely depleted after today's exploits in the so-called real world.

to play or not to play

There I was, chilling and relaxing all cool on a day off when suddenly a bizarre, weird and utterly strange notion pops into my head. Namely that for the first time in an age I have more games around me that I know what to do with. I look upon the list below and wonder how I came to be such a junkie for the high quality product of the videogame industry.

casual archeology 101

I interrupt this delicious ham and pineapple pizza to bring you my latest thoughts on Uncharted: Golden Abyss . Because the internet is nothing if its not about letting total strangers know what you're eating at any given moment.

this needs a Plan B

Day off day today so I've made it a point to make it a day of low productivity after the last few days in work. As such, not much for the old update tonight. My brain's on radio silence, breaking it only now to deliver what little it has to offer your screen tonight.

why has she got a bushy tail?

Answers on a stamped addressed envelope please. Look at the picture above and see if you can explain to me in an encyclopedia or less what's going on there? It is an in-game still from the madness that is BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend , a colourful, anime styled and completely mental beat em up I will now attempt to describe without the use of mind altering elixirs.

rooster uppercut

Cower in fear at the might of the Rooster Uppercut! For it will lay waste to all that stand before it! With the power of the Rooster Uppercut the luchadors punch becomes a registered weapon. A weapon that brings its enemies all the unlikely power of the Rooster packed into one fist.

consumer frenzy impulse purchase

As you may know I temporarily lost my mind to insanity whilst purchasing my PS4 and in my moment of fleeting madness I found myself purchasing a PlayStation Vita as well. Presumably I was acting on some latent urge to own one but that's probably rationalising my thought process to an absurd degree, assuming of course there was a thought process involved and not a mindless impulse to own more stuff. After owning one for the past few weeks I think I can now form my thoughts about it into an easy to digest blog format. Here goes.

loading screen matinee

Now that's how you sell a game to me, with ridiculous overconfidence. Downloaded Velocity Ultra for my Vita a few nights back in the ongoing Xmas Sale on the PlayStation Store. Bought it on a total whim and thus far I am thoroughly enjoying it. A variation on the arcade twitch fests of yesteryear, you pilot a ship capable of transporting itself instantaneously all across your screen in a bid to save humans and avoid obstacles. Resogun tickled the bullet hell nerve recently and I've been casting a cautious eye over the Vita back-catalogue for just such a game.

piledriving skeletons

I've talked about it before but Guacamelee! has to be one of the most joyful games I've played in a while. A colourful, funny utterly charming platformer where you take on skeletons as an undead luchador risen from the great thereafter to save the woman he loves. Because that's how he rolls. Seriously though this feels like a game made entirely for me. That of course raises the possibility that somewhere out there someone is tracking every move I make for the purposes of catering to my every whim, which is something that should terrify us all really.

luchadores only

Can't talk. Playing Guacamelee! on my PlayStation Vita, an utterly charming platformer about a guy who rises from the dead with lucha powers in order to save the woman he loves from skeletons.

nerve endings

Not pictured: my limitless joy! Circa 12.11 last night I walked out of GAME with a bag packed to the brim with all forms of wholesome Sony goodness. Not having attended a launch before I wasn't sure what I expected beforehand but what I got was less the horror of midnight retail and more an orderly, sane process where I got my console in super quick time.
